Activity with Ears

Once you have your ears made watch this little video and mimic the things the bunny does. scrunching up their nose, hopping, nuzzling, etc.. you can also use some of the examples from the book of things to do with your ears. See what other things you can come up with that your ears can do!

Praise Your Child

Alright moms and dads its time to boost your child self-esteem! While you are playing, eating lunch, or sitting snuggling start a little discussion about the things that bunnies are good at. Then shift the conversation to things that your child is good at. You could say something like, “Wow, bunnies can do lots of things! What kind of things can a (boy or girl) do?” See how they respond and then start telling them thigns that you have noticed that they do really well! Depending on the age it could be things like: putting on their shoes, brushing their teeth, putting their dishes in the sink, using the potty, sleeping in their own bed, cleaning up their toys, walking, crawling, eating, playing peek a boo, smiling, hugging, giving kisses, washing their hands, coloring, singing, jumping… it could be anything! Just let them know that you know them. That you pay attention to them and that they are doing a good job figuring out how to use and take care of their body.

Dance and Other Movement Songs

Toddlers love to dance and move to music. The key to toddler music is the repetition of songs, which encourages the use of words and memorization. Silly songs make them laugh. Try singing a familiar song and inserting a silly word in the place of the correct word, like “Mary had a little spider” instead of lamb. Let them reproduce rhythms by clapping or tapping objects. This little video has some cute actions that you can do to teach your little one this fun song that goes with our book! Even if your little one is too small to sing the words, hearing the beat and listening to the music will get them moving and is very beneficial!

The Learning Station (link to YouTube channel) has some fun songs that will really get you moving! Here is one of our favorites!
