All the Awake Animals are Almost Asleep
All the Awake Animals are Almost Asleep is a beautiful ABC book showing all different animals in their habitats as they fall asleep. the words are a higher reading level then most board books, exposing your child to new vocabulary words.
Put the Animals to Sleep
Gather your little ones stuffed animals and make a bed for them. Have your little one put the animals to bed, tucking them in, singing to them, cuddling them.
Made up Words Game
In the book for the Letter L it says “As the light laps the leaves, Lion lies down, lounging low with Lioness and little ones.” Do you see how many words started with L? That’s the pattern through out the book with each letter. Play a game with your little one to see how many words you can think of that start with each letter, just start listing them off and when you run out of real words make some up! Your child will love the silliness of the words and might be able to come up with some of their own!
My kids LOVED this activity! They were so engaged and it seemed so magical to them!
Create a fun watercolor activity using:
- a white crayon
- white paper
- watercolor paint and brush
Using the white crayon draw the alphabet on the white paper, show your little one how to get the paint on their brush (depending on age and fine motor skills you may have to load their brush with watercolor for them). As they find the secret letters say the name of the letter and the sound.
